Objectives: To determine the relative frequency of clinical, paraclinical and pathological findings in patients with DLE. Patients and Methods: The clinical, Paraclinical and pathological findings in 50 biopsy proven patients with DLE referred to Razi Hospital in Tehran in 1377 were recorded in special questionnaires. Data were analyzed by SPSS software, T-Student and chi-square tests were used. Results: The number of female patients was twice of males, majority in the age range of 20 to 50 years, Most of the patients had no complaints except for skin eruptions. Paraclinical abnormalities were rare. The paraclinical changes were various, but hydropic degeneration of basal layer was found in all cases. Conclusion: Complementary studies are suggested to evaluate similarities and differences in Iranian and non-Iranian patients with DLE.
